 Game Overview:
Neither team will come away with an immediate rewards from this weekend. Surrey is set to finish last in the BCHL for a second straight season, while the Spruce Kings haven’t had a season like this when they had 13 wins, and finished last in the Interior Division.
The two sit last in the league for goals for and goals against, but the last time they met there were certainly some fireworks.
Prince George won the opening game by a score of 9-3, their highest offensive output of the season. Eight players had multipoint games, with Jarod Hovde leading the charging scoring twice, and adding a pair of helpers. Johnson and Logan each scored two goals, and Matt Stief had three assists in the win.
Last weekend, Prince George started things off with a 5-1 loss to the Langley Rivermen. It was the second time this year PG has been swept by a divisional opponent also losing all six games to the Chilliwack Chiefs. The Spruce Kings would respond the next night though by taking the Alberni Valley Bulldogs to overtime. Joseph McLeod and Brody Claeys each made some enormous saves in the extra time, and the meeting wound up in a tie.
This season the two teams are in a tie for their matchups against one another. They each have two wins, two losses, and one tie.
Prince George Home Record: 7-18-1-1
Spruce Kings Leading Scorer: Matt Stief: 4 goals / 37 assists / 41 points

Surrey Road Record: 3-23-0-1
Eagles Leading Scorer: Kurt Black: 18 goals / 24 assists / 42 points

Players to watch:
Spruce Kings:
Connor Logan - FWD: Logan leads the Spruce Kings in goals against the Eagles, and has all three of those goals in the two games hosted in Prince George. He’s on a five game point drought, and the last time he found the scoresheet were in the two games against Surrey. He’s been a responsible player this season in terms of penalties, only picking up eight PIM all season long.
Kyle Johnson- FWD: To say Kyle Johnson had some success at the Spruce Kings award banquet would be the understatement of the year. The rookie forward took home four of a possible ten awards including MVP, and is in the hunt this weekend to catch Matt Stief for most points. Johnson sits just two points Stief, and the last time two games against Surrey he had four points.

Eagles:
Gage Mackie- FWD: Like Connor Logan, Gage Mackie had three goals in the last two games here in Prince George. The 6’3”, 200lbs power forward wasn’t just getting on the scoreboard though, also getting chirpy with the Spruce kings after most whistles. Look for PG to try and knock him off his game with more poat whistle conversations.
Kurt Black -FWD: With three assists in the last game against Prince George, Jeffrey Stewart is one to watch from the Eagles. He sits third in team scoring, with 11 goals and 20 assists for 31 points on the season.
