Player to watch:
Spruce Kings:

Jarod Hovde – FW: Named the Fortis Energy Player of the Game last night, Hovde was all over the ice. Since he was acquired earlier in the season, Hovde has never been one to shy away from physical play despite his smaller size. He is still in search of his first BCHL goal, and came close a few times last night.
Parker Colley – FW: Another player in search of his first BCHL goal, Colley rang one off the post yesterday minutes after Adam Burnett scored his first of the season. The young forward is playing on a line with Bryan Basilico and Jake LeBrun, so has plenty of size on his line to help create chances.

Express:
Jackson Cressey- FW: Being 4th in league scoring, Cressey isn’t used to being left off the scoresheet. The captian of the Express drew a penalty on a breakaway last night, and used his speed and size to generate other chances will he will surely look to do again tonight.
Erik Udahl- D: The Massachusetts native wasn’t the biggest player on the ice last night, but was one of the more dangerous players on the Express lineup. If the first line for the Express gets shut down again secondary scoring will need to step up, and Udahl will be one of those players expected to fine the twine.

In the Standings:
With the win last night, and Surrey losing, the Spruce Kings moved into 5th in the Mainland division. Now Prince George sits six points back of Coquitlam for the final playoff spot in the group. If the Spruce Kings lose then they’ll finish the weekend no closer to a playoff spot than when they started, but a win will bring them to within two more wins of Coquitlam.

Special Teams Battle:
Last night the Spruce Kings won the special teams battle, and won the hockey game against the Express. Prince George went 3 for 6 on the power play, and killed off all four of Coquitlam’s man advantages. There were two Express power plays late in the third, but the Spruce Kings managed to kill all of them off.
