Venue: The Prince George Coliseum
Game Time: 7pm
Last Year’s Matchup: 2-1 in favour of Nanaimo
Season Series:  First meeting of the year

 Game Overview:
This will mark the first meeting between the two teams this season. Last year Prince George won the first meeting in the Showcase, but it was Nanaimo taking the next two to win the season series. The Clippers sail in on a 6 game winning streak, while the Spruce Kings burst out for six goals last night which is only the next time this season they’ve scored more than four in a game. The Spruce Kings sit 10 points behind the Coquitlam Express, while Nanaimo has a four point lead for first place in the Island Division.
Prince George Home Record: 5-8-0-0
Spruce Kings Leading Scorer: Adam Brubacher 11 goals – 14 assists – 25 points

Nanaimo Road Record: 7-6-0-1
Clippers Leading Scorer: Sheldon Rempal 29 goals - 28 assists -  57 points

Player to watch:
Spruce Kings:
Nick Guerra – FWD: With the goal last night, Guerra is up to three now on the season. The Victoria native was traded to PG from Nanaimo last season, so he may have some added motivation heading into the match tonight.
Adam Burnett – D: Leads Spruce King defensemen in penalty minutes with 42, but will need to reign it in with Nanaimo coming in with the number three ranked power play. Burnett had an assist in the win last night, and will be counted on the shut down Nanaimo’s big line of Rempal, Hoover, and Brosseau.

Clippers:
Sheldon Rempal- FWD: Leads the team and league in goals with 29 after 29 games. The third year forward had 29 goals last year in 53 games, so will likely break that career high, but the Spruce Kings will need to shut him down if they want a chance to win.
Matthew Hoover -FWD: Is tied for 2nd in the league for power play goals with 11. He is tied with teammate Rempal, and they both sit one back of the league leading Easton Brodzinksi.
